Ashyn is originally from Hunterdon County New Jersey, and now resides with her children in the Pocono Mountains and comes from a long line of musicians and professional singers.
Ashyn began performing at the age of five singing and playing the piano, and she was part of a band at age 15 called In Refuge, playing keyboard and lead vocals.
Ashyn played with Phoenix and performed and sang lead vocal , keys, guitar and violin for many years, singing on radio, charity events, and concerts.
Starting at the age of 17, Ashyn began her teaching career and has been teaching for over 20 years
